Best Massage In Sydney

The Best Massage In Sydney

By Peter Briedon
It’s easy to satisfy me, simply give me the best and I’m satisfied! Unfortunately it’s the task of finding the best that’s not so easy to do. I recently stumbled on what was in my experience, the best massage in Sydney.

Ok, I’ll admit it, I’m addicted to massage. I also admit that my motivation is purely one of self indulgence. I know that it’s highly therapeutic and good for you in a million different ways and stimulates blood circulation and endorphin release and joint mobility and muscular this and that and blah blah blah. But for me massage is just sheer pleasure and escapism and one of the simplest and easiest ways I can treat myself to a good time whenever I feel I deserve it, which is a lot!

I’m blessed to live near beautiful Coogee Beach and I frequently take the coastal walk all the way to Bondi Beach. Doing this every day or so keeps me fit and I simply never get tired of the views. Anyone who has taken the walk knows exactly what I mean.

Last week I was feeling particularly energetic and kept walking. I found myself in nearby Bondi Junction where I came across a massage shop I had somehow missed (and here I was thinking I’d tried them all).

This particular shop specialised in traditional Thai massage as well as sports and therapeutic massages but my feet were kind of aching so I went for the Thai foot massage. By the way, all the staff were Thai ladies who were very easy on the eyes which I didn’t mind one little bit.

Now in case you haven’t worked it out yet, I’m quite the massage connoisseur. I’ve had at least one per week for as long as I can remember and sadly, the quality you get varies enormously from place to place. If I have a bad experience, I don’t go back, simple as that, and while I do have a handful of favorite places that I go back to regularly, I still love to check out a new place when I find one.

I’ll give you an example of a bad experience I had recently. I was visiting friends in Melbourne and felt like some well deserved pampering so I ventured over to a Thai Massage shop in the eastern suburb of Box Hill. Well the girl who gave it seemed like she needed some serious training because to me she didn’t even seem to grasp the basic fundamentals of massage.

Massage is all about the soft tissues, you work predominantly on muscle, and for the most part avoid bone because having bony areas massaged is at best unpleasant and at worst painful. And yet that’s precisely what she did, most of the time was spent massaging my bony upper foot and shin bones! Err, I don’t think I’ll grace them with my good looks again any time soon.

Last weeks foot massage in Bondi Junction by contrast was simply heaven on a stick! A perfect massage given by someone who really knew what she was doing. My feet and calves got a thorough working over, the pressure and intensity was just right and the pace of the massage was superb. Top all that off with her beautiful gracious smile and the experience was complete, simply the best massage in Sydney, in my humble opinion at least. Needless to say I’ve already been back, and it won’t be the last time.

Come and experience the best massage in Sydney for yourself!

Things To Do Sydney

Sydney is my favorite city in Australia, and here are my favorite things to do Sydney. Next time you visit you must experience these great attractions.

Sydney Harbour Bridge

Well I have to start with this one, together with the Opera House, these two structures make up one of the most photographed and iconic sights on Earth. You can cross by foot or by cycle at no cost and the views are excellent. You can also experience the bridge walk where you walk along the top arch and get some of the best views in the entire country. You can do the bridge walk by day or night, I recommend both!

Sydney Opera House

The iconic Opera House is an architectural classic situated at Circular Quay on the harbour front. It is a world class performing arts centre and a world heritage listed building. The Sydney Opera House is truly a sight to behold.

Sydney Harbour Cruise

There are many cruises available including sight seeing, lunch and dinner cruises. Views are spectacular. Sydney harbour is also the lauch point for many large cruise ships leaving for national and international destinations.

Manly Beach

One of my personal favorites, Manly beach has a unique style and is perfect for that seafood lunch or dinner. You can get there by ferry from Circular Quay.

Bondi Beach

Australia’s most famous beach and one of the busiest beaches in the world. I highly recommend taking the coastal walk from Bondi to Coogee beach, it’s simply brilliant!

Luna Park

Sydney’s theme park situated at Milsons Point near the north end of the Harbour Bridge. it’s a great way to spend a day, especially if you have children.

Sydney Observatory

This is Australia’s oldest and most historically significant observatory. Today it is a museum and admission is free. Well worth the visit, located in the historic Rocks district.

Star City Casino

For those who enjoy casino gaming and other indoor entertainment, Star City Casino is situated at Darling Harbour and includes hundreds of gaming tables, theatres, restaurants, nightclubs and a five star hotel.

Taronga Zoo

For animal lovers, a world class zoo with sensational city views.

Sydney Aquarium

This is one of the largest Aquariums in the world with the largest collection of sharks in captivity. For those who love aquariums and underwater life, this is a must see. Situated at Darling Harbour.

Sydney Wildlife World

Located next to the Aquarium, Wildlife World highlights nine unique wildlife habitats. Get up close and personal with some of your favorite Australian wildlife including koalas, kangaroos and snakes.

Darling Harbour

This is a large precinct near the CBD which boasts cafes, restaurants, bars, shops, hotels, museums and other attractions. A great place to spend time, go shopping or just walk around.

Sydney Tower

Another way to get spectacular Sydney views. Sydney Tower is equal in height to the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Located at Pitt and Market streets above the centrepoint shopping centre.

Sydney Massage

This is one I had to add to the list, getting a great massage is one of my favorite pastimes and finding a quality massage in Sydney at the end of some shopping or sight seeing is the perfect way to end the day!

As you can see, there are so many things to do Sdyney has so much to offer. Come visit and enjoy!
