I’ve just got my license for massage therapy and have been asked to massage at a baby shower/spa party. I have never done anything like this yet and I’m uncertain on what I should charge. The party consists of the host plus 20 guests…but the host isn’t sure how many people are actually going to show up. I also haven’t been told whether she wants a chair massages or table massages. So, what is an example of a price for each? And how did you come to that price?

The one section on my.. I can’t really pinpoint where it is.. upper back/inner side of right shoulder/neck has been really weird for the past three days. At first I thought I just slept weird on it, but now I’m not so sure. It seems like whenever I turn my neck all the way to the left or right to see what’s behind me, I’ll get this really sharp pain, same if I just lift my head from lying down. I tried, for example, stretching, trying to crack my neck or back, and trying the massage setting on my showerhead, but nothing seems to be helping. I mentioned it to a friend, they said it might be a pinched nerve. If it is, what can I do? If it isn’t that, what might it be, and what else can I do?
First off try a heat pad and some anti-inflammatory meds like advil. If this doesn’t help then you might need a doctor’s visit because it could be anything from a trapped nerve to muscle spasms. Muscle relaxers will help, but they have to be prescribed.
